This is a follow up to the same problem I posted in another thread. http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/computer-consantly-searching-for-updates.2488784/
Working on 7 plus year old laptop. 250 gig hdd, 4gig ram and a celeron cpu. Problem was maching was extremely slow. Cpu constantly ran at 100%. Found updates had not been done in over 9 months. Tried to run win updates and machine sat for over a day without doing anything.
I did a format and clean install using disks from manufacturer Ran check for updates and it downloaded a few and installed. Ran check for updates again and,,,, got a message saying need to download a certain update to continue. I did that and,,, after that update installed,,, machine froze again while checking updates. (could not delete that last update, or go back using restore point.
Did another clean install. After install was done, I turned off updates. (never check for updates) Also, never set up wifi. Using another machine I downloaded SP! t to a usb stick and then installed it on the affected machine.
At this point, using another machine, can I download this rollup to a usb flash and install it on the affected pc?

I want to keep the auto updates out of the picture till I have all the latest updates installed.
Am I ok with this or,,, is there a better way to do this???
