I frequently get an error saying "Icsmgr has caused an error in <unknown>". I found no info on this in the MS knowledge base or in a search in this forum. The error usually happens when I leave the computer on for an extended period of time like overnight or when I am shutting it down.
Also if I leave it on over night or for an extended period of time unattended the windows control buttons at the top right of the screen to minimize, restore, and close get replaced with mottled grey boxes. The buttons continue to work but the pictures are gone.
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled ICS. Anyone else having trouble like this or any ideas about how to solve it?

After removing ICS I have experienced no further trouble. However, I would like to be able to use Internet connection sharing without the problems. Any ideas?

Yes, a great idea. Go here and download the program called proxy. This is a GREAT small efficient program that runs in the background!
On the host computer:

Assign IP 192.168.0.1 / Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 to the NIC that connects to your other computer/LAN.

On client computer:

Assign IP 192.168.0.xxx <- 2-127(Except 192.168.0.1) / Subnet 255.255.255.0.

Ok, now I don't know what your Internet connection is; Cable? DSL? Modem?

But in ANY Case what you do next is this:

On client computer connecting to the net:

Go to control panel, Internet Options, LAN Settings, Check "Use Proxy Server" Address = 192.168.0.1 Port = 6588. Then hit ok. You are set up to surf! Let me know how this works, I have 4 - 5 computers surfing on a single cable modem connection this way and it works great.
