Need to try to figure out this problem for work:
We are running XP machines and using some for telecommuting. The user will be dialing in using the "Log in using dialup" checkbox during initial logon to the computer. We are having a problem with the user not authenticating to the domain when they logon through dialup. It gives the user the error "the XXXXX domain isn't available right now" message. Here is the catch, they get through to the RAS server and have dialup connectivity but are not able to authenticate to the domain for access to the computer.
Catch #2, if the user has logged into the computer locally over the LAN (no dialup) they are able to use the logon screen to dialup and get on the computer without error. I believe this has to do with cached credentials on the machine.
I am looking to find out what the true problem may be and what things I can test.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
