I did 2 installs of it so far. The first time I had a ah heck of a time getting it to see my 98 machine. I forget exactly what I did to get it working but I think I just had to rename the XP network name. The second time I installed it I just made sure the network name was the same and it worked first try. Now getting my 98 machine to access my XP machine is another thing. It can see it but can't access any files. In win2k pro it just involved adding a guest account but XP seems to have it already turned on by default.

So in conclusion, I probably can't help yea but at least you know someone else is having the same problem
I'll mess around with it some again tommorow.

Just checked mine after reading your post and i am having similar problems.I have XP and win 98SE on this machine , and as soon as I switched back to win98 all was fine. LMK if you figure it out before I get in this evening and I am going to work on it then. maybe the built in firewall ? but i think i have that disabled

Got my 98 machine to work without a prob. I could already see my 98 machine though when I started. I just did the dumb network wizard thing they have and made sure the names of the network were all the same. That will they "ungrey" the share folder over network checkbox. It also started the dumb firewall again which I had to shut off. Now both computers can see each other and access the files. If anyone needs to know specifics on settings let me know and I'll look them up for you.

EDIT: I never made the stupid network disk that they asked me to make. Just exit the wizard there.

yep I had switched the firewall back on for experimenting and that was the culprit...switched back off and all is fine now after a reboot of network
