Win XP won't access added hard drive

I installed WinXP home (clean, new hdd) on one of my PC's. After it was done, I added a second hard drive (as Primary Slave) with all my data on it. The drive shows in the BIOS and in device manager (dm says its working properly). However, the drive doesn't show in in explorer nor "my computer".

Anyone know why? I tried refreshing the info, no go.

You're using an ISA card still? That card has so many problems with it that it's worth throwing out.

For the hard drive, go to logical disk manager and assign a drive letter.

HAHAHAHAHA....that's still an excellent NIC! It's worked perfectly on my home LAN for years and my BX mobo has 2 ISA slots. Yea, I have both taken with the NIC and an old Aztec sound card, which, btw, XP picked up and installed! :Q I have 2 modern PCI NIC's in boxes but why use 'em when this ISA NIC has worked so well? LONG LIVE ISA!

DOH...forgot to check NT disk manager! Keep forgetting that XP is merely NT 6.0!

Just got home and I'm in XP disk manager. The drive is listed as Disk1 Dynamic Foreign. I can do nothing with it except "convert to basic disk", which will destroy all my data on it. I have 13GB of data on it...I dont want it destroyed!!! This is the disk I used to back up everything prior to the XP install.

Any more ideas? XP IS SUCK!

Go to Runtime and try get data back. It should recover all of your data - you mat have to pay for it to be able to see the data, and also have somewhere to put it, so that you can re-format the drive.
