Win2k: 8 devices on IRQ9, and 1 on IRQ11...anyone know why I have the stray?

Edit: Ok...so IRQ9 is fine, but does anyone know why I have the 1 stray on IRQ11?


I just got through installing Win2000 Pro...and I thought everything was suppose to share IRQ11? For some reason I have most things sharing IRQ9...except the Audio CODEC for my ATi TV-Wonder...that's on 11
I'm confused

Does this look alright? Everyone else I've seen was on 11...Guess I'm just wacko?
Everything seems to work fine...so maybe I'm just worrying too much?

"It's a feature not a bug" due to ACPI.

The only way to get around this is to switch to Standard PC HAL or to reinstall and press F5 to select Standard PC instead of ACPI.

I received a nice performance boost by disabling ACPI.

Uh whoops...I didn't read your question well Anyway, the magic IRQ's are 11 and 9. So it's normal.

Yeah I know all about ACPI HAL vs Standard PC HAL, I thought it was just 11. Didn't know 9 was "magic" as well.

Any idea why there's that one stray?

All my crap is on IRQ 9, for some people it's 11 some it's 9. Those are the two IRQ's "reservered" for ACPI. Take a look at your mobo manual. It should have a list of what IRQ's are for what.
