Current system: Athlon 1.0, KT7 (Kt133), maxtor 30GB 7200rpm on IDE0 VIA686A (ATA66), ASUS 50X cdrom on IDE1 (UDMA33). The problem occurs when the install process begins to copy files to the WINNT directory. It constantly says that files are not found on the installation source and to please input, which then forces me to swap to another Win2k copy and retry. it sometimes accepts files from one disc but not another, and it has never actually completed that phase of setup. each time i get a different set of file missing. I have tried switching Cdrom drives (sony 8x4x32 burner, Acer DVD 12x, LG 12x8x40 burner) and the same thing happens. The same problem also occurs on my Kt7E system using an IBM 30gb 75GXP which rules out the HDD, the cdrom, and the 686A/B issues. I have about 6 copies of win2k from my office that i have had to use to swap during the file copy process to try and complete it. I am at my wits end. has anyone else experienced this?
I have also tried to copy the i386 dir to the hdd, but it also misses files when reading from the hardrive to the harddrive..
