Ok I made a new login info and had no idea that when I login useing this new one it deletes everything in my documents, icon, shortcuts, ect. Although it does keep everything installed I still didnt know this.

Ok the problem is I am trying to go back to the one I was useing before with all my documents and stuff. I know its still in my other login but when I load it, it doesnt load my icons and documents.

Anyone? I am confused.

In W2k, every user will have their own personal settings = thus having their own
document, file folders. When u created a new user, all your old stuff will not be shown.

Just login as the OLD user, and all your old settings will appear once again unless the
old profile got erased or corrupted somehow.

I doubt that everything was deleted. Each user has their own my documents, desktop, start menu, etc. Log in as adminstrator and search for your files. Move them to a common location. I'd suggest creating a folder called files in the root of your c: and keeping documents there. It will simplify 2000 for you to have a central location for your files until you are more familiar with how 2000 stores profiles.

Ok your best bet is to login as your new ID. As long as it has local admin rights, you should be able to copy the files from your old user profile found in the

C:\Documents and Settings

folder. There should be several folders in there including one for each user ID you created. Each has it's own my documents folder and Desktop folder. Your icons should be in the Desktop folder and your documents should be in the..............guess where?

Sounds like you are new to the NT/2000 environment. Take a deep breath, chances are nothing was deleted. It's not windows 9X, user profiles and logins actually mean somthing here.
