win2k network probs

hey guys i have an annoying network problem for ya.

Im running win2k on my system and my dad is using win98 on his downstairs with the web connection etc. I can access his c: drive (shared) across the network no problems but whenever i try to connect to my system from his i get a prompt asking me for a password for the sahre $ipc. Ive tried to disable this share in computer management in 2k but it keeps coming back. The most annoying thig is that i ahvent set up any passwords for the connection and i have no ideas what to type in as a p/w.

Am i missing something obvious here or is this an actual problem?

create an accout on the win2k box with the user name of the login on the windows 98 box. win98 box has an id and your win2k box doesnt recognize it. set up an account for the win98 box.

or simply enable the guest account on win2k
