Win2k problems and Boot Manager questions

Things have been going pretty well until recently.

Problem 1:

I have a dual boot system (Win2k/Win Me) and I'd like to change some of the defaults for the boot manager. I'm currently using the Win2k boot manager, but I can't find the boot.ini file. (I do have show hidden files enabled.) I've also tried the PQ boot manager and it only recognizes Win2k. Of course when I select it, I get the Win2k boot manager screen.

Disk configuration is like this - Disk 1 FAT32 (Win Me), Disk 2 NFTS (Win2k) [There is an extended partition on Disk 1 and there is a Disk 3, but these are set up as FAT32 and just used for files.]

I'd kind of like to use the PQ boot manager because it looks pretty easy to configure. Does anyone know how I can get it to recognize the Win Me (or disable the Win2k boot manager)? Or, at least, how to find the boot.ini file so I can edit it?

I want to install SuSE 7.1 soon, but I want to understand what's going on with Windows booting first, in case I run into a snag.

Problem 2:

Recently, Win2k has stopped recognizing my USB Zip drive. It doesn't show up at all and it's normal drive letter is missing - drive letters showing up a:, c:, d:, e:, f:, h: (CDROM). I don't know when this problem first appeared, but to the best of my recollection the only changes I've made have been installing a USB scanner (HP3300c) and installing EZ CD creator. The Zip drive shows up just fine in Win Me. Any ideas?

Problem 3:

With regard to the scanner, try as I might I can't scan in Win2k. I've gone to the HP site and downloaded the Win2k software, but I get an error message when I try to run PrecisionScan LT (the scanning s/w that comes with the unit) from Win2k (works fine in Win Me).

Ok, long post. Thanks to those that have had the patience to read this far. I'm willing to wipe the disks clean and start fresh. If I do that, what partitioning scheme would you recommend to accommodate Win2k, Win Me, SuSE 7.1? Disk 1 (20 G), Disk 2 (13.9 G), Disk 3 (3.2 G)

Boot.ini would be on C:\, and should be viewable if you enable hidden and system file viewing. Or, you could see it if you boot with a DOS floppy and run attrib -h -s c:\boot.ini. Some of the boot.ini defaults can be changed via w2k startup options - default OS and menu display time.
