Win2k saves JPEGS as bitmap

I have a setting that went awry, and when i save pictures from the web, they are all saving as bitmap (no other option available), not jpeg.

How do i change this ??

Running Internet Explore (honestly not sure which version, but pretty recent)

That happens to me sometimes too. Clearing cookies seems to help. Anyone know of a more permanent fix?

Clearing your cache is the temporary fix. The permanent fix is a little harder to explain, but is available for download here.

Here is a better long term fix for you warrenpeace, you could just set the max casche size to about 50MB or so. The IE programmers seem to think it's okay to have hundereds of megs worth of temporary internet files sitting on your machine, I find it no surprise that these things happen periodically.

Or of course you could use a differant web browser as that would "fix" your problem as well.

try setting save image as to "All files (*.*)" and then manually entering filename.jpg
