I know that MS is getting tougher on license infringement. I have a few questions regarding license keys for Windows 2000 Server as featured on the latest version of Small Business Server.
I have a copy of Win2K SBS. Just after I got my copy, my company was contracted to install SBS on two different client servers. We didn't get the SBS software for them in time for a tight deadline, so the techs used my copy to install. The software arrived later and they were sent to the clients. So while everyone now has a retail SBS software package with their respective keys, they all share my key as far as the installation goes.
First of all, given Microsoft's recent stance on license infringement, could this present a problem for clients for future service pack upgrades (including SP3)? And if so, is there a reasonably easy way to change the license key to match what they have purchased? (Mine is a full copy. The clients have purchased upgrade packs from NT4 so the keys would be upgrade keys).
Thanks
