Win98 se or Win2k pro?

I currently have Win98 Se and it has been working fine. Although it is old, but everyone seems to have mixed feelings on the operating systems that have came out after Win98 se. I am currently debating on whether or not to switch over to Win2000 pro. What do you think and why? Thanks

go for XP if your hardware is up to it.

oh yeah,why:
Win98 can not properly make use of today's hardware. It is infantile in comparison to NT/2K/XP. Once you are used to the new OS you will not want to deal with the crap of 98.

I agree. You wont go back to 98 after using NT variants for a few weeks, they just work the way they should. no lockups, no delays, no bsod's, nothing.
I've tried XP, and I'm sticking with 2k. I realy can't understand what the XP fuss is all about. For me is the same. 2k with a facelift more appealing for the home users. go with 2k. more mature, drivers for everything, support all over.

One other question, I have heard drivers are a pain to find for Win 2000 pro. Is this true?

Most new hardware comes with win2k drivers. My older computer used to be 98se, but I upgraded to win2k and the drivers all installed from win2k with no problems.

i've been using win2k-pro_sp2 for few month now and it's great, very stable, drivers for everything,no blue screens plus its very easy to troubleshoot . make sure to install the service pack(2) it adds alot of stability.
p.s: make sure you know someone how know about configuring all the system services, it can be tricky.
