I'm currently using the 'regular' version of Windows 98 and I've heard nothing but good stuff about Win98SE and wanted to know if a 'free' update is available? I like gaming so I'm probably gonna stick with win98 and don't want to bother with ME/2000.
My advice would be "DON'T" in capital letters!
For me Win98 regular is much more stable than 98SE..do a search in the forums for posts on this - it's a split camp...good for some, bad for others....
There really isn't much of a difference between win98 and win98se, just minor fixes and such. You can get these fixes by installing SP1 for win98 which is available through Windows Update. Or, you can just download and install the three main components:
There is one major difference between the 2, and that is the Internet Connection Sharing. You HAVE to have SE to use it, although the client machines can be running just about any OS under the sun.
