Winamp question

I was using winamp to convert a playlist of mp3s to wav format for burning onto cd, and so I went into preferences and enabled the diskwriter plugin. It worked fine, but then I couldn't figure out how to disable it, I had to just pick another output plugin. Well, I juts double clicked the DirectSound output, and it made all my mp3's skip unless I have winamp 100% of focus and didn't touch anything else. So I picked wav output plugin, and then all the id3 tags are screwed, it plays really loud and the volume control doesn't affect anything. How do you just stop all plugins and go back to regular play? I even tried reinsatlling winamp, and it kept the plugin running after I started it up after the reinstall.

I tried deleting the output plugins and then it wouldn't play anything, it said "unable to find output plugin"

The wav output is the standard output for winamp.

then why does the volume control not work, everything is amplified (yes the EQ is OFF) and when I right click a list enty and hit "file info" it doesn't give me ID3 info like usual it gives kHz info and sh!t about WAV output

Just use Nero to burn the files. It will convert from MP3 to WAV on the fly. Its great

format c: /q means quick

I am not sure if format c: /s refers to copying system files to the hard drive. Don't quote me on that one though

Just completely uninstall winamp...and delete all the files associated with it. Then get winamp 2.64 from winamp.com, and install that. The settings should all be default. If not and no luck, download MusicMatch Jukebox 5 from musicmatch.com. It is a very nice mp3 player/ripper/burner. Good luck.
