Winantivirus.com Damm Hijakcers!

Last night my box was infected with a hijack from winantivirus.com, and my daughter has been using my computer, so I wasn't sure if it was her, or I picked it up surfing.

But given my experience I've been pretty good with dealing with these things, but this damm one was a pain to remove, I personally couldn't find any AV, or spyware/malware app to remove it, so I said the hell with it and reformatted, and reinstalled XP.

NOW I'M PISSED!

I want to bring charges against these people, it's one thing to try and find them, but when you have a site that hijacks to someone like this, it's pretty bad.

Does anyone have any WHOIS contact info? I'm trying to find a phone number for these scum bags!

Whois info follows. They're not in the US it appears (if the info is even real), so good luck suing them (ie: it's not worth the effort)

Well it's not really about suing, it's letting people in authority know in other countries the problems they have, and I'll DAMM well tell all I can and see then what they have to say. So far I have found contact info for the presidents office with a contact number, at least I can then find out who I should really talk to, if that would be the Mayor of Kiev.

HEY if we let these people and sites slide like this, what message is that sending? Not a good one, because I for one am not one to rollover, especially when he cost me a loss.

There is nothing hilarious here, and I don't appreciate the remark. It doesn't matter what part of the world you live in, when you destroy, avenues can be pursued, and I plan on pursuing this. It's time someone be made an example of, and we change the Internet.

I have experience, and understanding in these matters, honestly it's about who's handling and saying what, and how you present it, and I know just that.

I wouldn't say I'm personally going after them. I want to see that the officals of their local areas go after them with the evidence I present, but for me to take the time to email and speak to Officals in Kiev is not that difficult. I truly want to see what the officals have to say over this matter.

From what I've read Leonid Chernovetskyi, the Mayor of Kiev is a straight shooter, and I'm a buinessman, so I know how to handle these types of matters. Truth is, it doesn't matter that I'm half way around the world. Truth is, allowing the Ukraine to be a safe haven for this type of thing can give a region in the world a bad image.

In politics no one likes a bad image, and it's how you present this, and believe me I know how, and I will follow through on this and see if charges can be brought against this company in Kiev, or if they're even in Kiev, but where ever they are I'll soon know, and see what can and will be done!

The Internet needs a change, and why we have all of this, is because no one is pushing this issue, and I will!

You're a little late there. I know this is in Kiev at least the website is hosted through Kiev, but the actual physical location of the people, well that might be another story.

There's a lot more to Russia in politics then the Mafia.

That was just a start, I can find higher ranking officals of the Ukraine easy, but sorry, meant to say I'm contacting them, and asking them who in Kiev would handle, look into matters such as this.

I've sent out a few more emails to other officials looking for this answer, and as soon as I have it, I'll keep you posted, if anyone cares.

Now in HONEST truth I know there is no one here that would love more, then to see the world of spyware/malware take a major hit. So just remember that next time someone wants to flame this.

In Gods honest truth I'll get on a plane and go to Kiev if I have to. Finally a chance has come, and as a PC geek who can make a difference I will in my power do what I can to help in this matter over malware.

Sooner or later in the world, just like terrorism, the world will join in this fight too, and I'm ready to start the battle.
