I have my wini running rock solid for 3 days straight at 2.7 without a single hiccup. The only blue screen so far was when I attempted to overclock my video card to far (gigabyte 6600gt sli). I have thrown every test at it, prime95, superPI, folding, and it just keeps on rocking. I guess I just lucky I don't know. But to get a 50% overclock with this combo seems to be the exception not the rule. I am now afraid to make any more tweaks i.e. voltage drop for fear of never getting back to this speed.
I am wondering if maybe my memory might be helping along. I have not seem a single test or review of this memory, ocz high performance ddr400, which is running at 270fsb right now.
I wish everyone luck.

my specs
CPU: AMD64 (WINCHESTER) 3000+@2.70ghz 9x300fsb (1.54v)
htt: 3
MB: MSI K8N Neo4 platinum sli
HD:2x 200GB WD SATA RAID 0
HD:1X 200GB WD SATA

RAM: 2X512 OCZ High Performance DDR400 revision 3
POWER: ENREMAX 480 NOISETAKER
DVD: NEC3500A
VIDEO: GIGABYTE 6600GT (single for now)
cpu cooling ZALMAN 7000CU.

nice OC 3000's oc just as well as the 3500's for some reason. seems funny. I don't think your mem has much to do with it. I have a 7700-cu running at 2.75 the 2.7 range seems to be as high as you can't get them unless you go with a phase change system.

Nice OC, I can't get mine that high. 1.54v is pushing it on a Winnie, but whatever it takes I don't think its your ram, isn't OCZ High Performance their lower end version?

1.54v is within the 10% range...I have never seen a chip die at this range or less.....Should be safe as long as temps are good...

Well I hit about 50 degrees at 1.55v, anything above 50 degrees is pushing it for me.

I agree I like 50c range for these chips as well....Though safe range is still available even a bit higher.....

My cpu hsf seems barely warm to the touch s far after starting day 2 in my 7 day FH marathon...to check DC stabiliity.....

temps are good. motherboard runs at 32c cpu at 35c. under full load cpu will hit 10c above motherboard temp.

sounds good temps to me.
typically should be able to get 2.4 to 2.5 Ghz right?

think water cool can get it up to 2.7 as well?
thats reasonable. winnies tend to hit 2.5-2.65 on about 1.54v, and some will hit 2.7GHz with enough volts (1.6-1.65) and thats probably do-able on water. theres alot of assumptions there though.

I've been toying with the idea of going with a water cooled rig, especially since I live in the desert. What is the best pre made rigs out there?
And would I be able to still use it to cool 2 gpu's in sli?

You can piece together a very good kit from Dangerden.com. I used to run an EXOS but a TDX block, double heatercore, 1/2" tubing and a high flow rate pump gives me substantially more cooling performance and at a substantially lower price. My load temps with the EXOS was 47C and my new setup gives me load temps of 40C under Prime95. You might be able to find a cooling solution for your dual GPUs, I'm not sure if you'll like the price for those though.

Caboob, for your double radiators do you just have the CPU Y-ing off into each core, or one for CPU and one for video card? Take a look at my watercooling thread in Cases and Cooling.

And for this topic, I can hit 2.65 on about 1.5v, but 2.7 requires a full 1.6+ for me, too high.

I have a 3200+ and my buddy has a 3000+ and they both do 2.7 on air. Max I hit is 50c and is 100% stable. Seems like week 40-48 are good ocers but I have hear the new winnys are not getting half as good. Who knows how much truth is in that.

Nice chip.

As far as water cooled cases..koolance pretty much dominates
http://www.xoxide.com/koolance-pc3-720sl-case-silver.html

Problem with watercooled cases are the cases. Since we all have particular taste, thier is no one size fits all so thier is'nt much demand. Also custom setups tend to perform better in various ways like quieter and/or cooler.

There are basically three ways to water cool.
1. Purcahse Cases which are water cooled, this is easiest.
2. Buy a kit from swifttech or cheaper one from thermaltake. still easy.
3. Parts. Which requires some skill. Maybe some cutting and custom fab..

Up to you.

My heatercore is the "double-sized" one sold at dangerden. Though I am tempted to stick another one in the loop in that manner.

What I cannot understand is the fact that so few people with basically the same equipment cannot get to where I am. It seems the odds would be with us in this, such as when the celeron 300 came out and everybody could overclock that puppy (I still have 2 stored away).
What is the magic bullet that is either getting fantastic overclocks or just killing these systems?
I find it odd that there is such a desparity in overclocking with this board. I don't think I have ever seen a bigger snafu than we are seeing now

btw: I am still using the original 1.0 bios that came with the board.

are you talking chip-dying-of-heat-caused-by-overvoltage or chip-dying-of-overvoltage-itself?
even with phase charge i wouldnt go above 1.65v.

I'm running my 3000+ at 2350mhz with 1.6v because my mobo(vnf4ultra) doesn't let me set the voltage of it to 1.5/1.525

My chip will be fine, ...right?

LE's....supposed to do 550ddr at cas 2.5,3,3,7....can get 533ddr at cas 2.5,3,3,8...testing shows it may not be 100% stable so I am at 480ddr (166 divider) with cas 2.5,3,3,8 rock stable....could get 2.5,3,3,7 but benches show me it is actually worse then 2.5,3,3,8...

Im thingking the second one, chip-dying-of-overvoltage-itself
does it happen that overvoltage kill the chip instead of heat?
