i have a Hauppauge PVR-250 (NTSC) installed under Win2000. I use WinTV 2000 for my PVR needs. the problem is, i'll be dropping Win2000 in June (MS is killing it) and i'd like to switch to Linux in this particular PC.
MythTV is nice, but i dont like Media Center-type applications much. what i mean is, i prefer to watch TV on "windowed mode" while browsing the web (like when using the WinTV app). i only switch to fullscreen when something catches my attention. unfortunately, when on windowed mode, MythTV cannot:
1) be resized easily (by dragging it from the edges, for example).
2) go into "fullscreen" (by double-clicking it, for example).
basically, i'm looking for a solution similar to Hauppauge's own WinTV application, which can easily go into the modes below:
- fullscreen.
- record.
- pause.
- windowed (and re-sizeable).
if VLC or MPlayer could change channels, pause and record, it would be great! however, as far as i know, those apps can only be used to "watch" TV.
any suggestions?
btw, i've been using Mint Linux for a few months. i like it.
