In Windows Media PlAER only

You need a 4K display. DTS will need some decoding and the proper speaker setup. There are codec packs that can help with decoding video and audio.

Once you have the requirements, it should play fine on WMP.

He's right. To playback DTS-X you need a proper surround speaker setup, with something capable of decoding the audio.

But.

I don't think that is the question here. First of all, you will not be able to watch any kind of blu-ray in Windows Media Player. Period.

The only legal way to view (commercial) blu-rays on a Windows PC is with PowerDVD version 12 or higher. There is no way around that. You might as well forget about 4K UVD discs. The requirements are almost impossible to meet.

I would advise getting a standalone blu-ray player. Or a Playstation4/XboxOne. It is much, much easier.

I am always willing to take my lumps when I make a mistake.

However, I was not wrong on everything. You do need a 4K display. You do need to decode DTS-X and to play it properly you need the correct speaker setup.

So, not 100% wrong answers. Maybe try working on your people skills.
