This is blowing my mind.

Anytime I full screen a video or game, my monitor turns black during random scenes. The second I run it in a window, it goes away. Full screen windowed does not fix the problem, but an actual window does seem to fix the problem.

Here's what I've gathered:
If I alt tab, I can see the correct scene being displayed in the small window on the primary monitor.
My non primary monitor will not turn black randomly even in full screen. This was after making the non primary monitor the primary monitor.
When playing a game full screen, something as little as moving the mouse can make the game turn black, but moving it again can make the game visible again.

I've tried doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of graphics drivers.

Here are my specs, I'm not sure they'll help though.
AMD HD 7950
i5 3.2 ghz
8 gbs DDR3 ram
Xonar Essence STX
Windows 10 64 bit

How many drivers have you tested, and what video connections are you using?

Hello, I recently had similar problems. I had to switch around some cables and connections. Sometimes video cards can act funky depending on the type of connection you are using. For example if you are using VGA, try switching to DVI or HDMI. Also try unplugging one of your monitors and try to single out the problem. One monitor could be throwing off the other signal somehow. Hopefully you have different cables to try.

I've been using the latest driver for my card, there was recently a UI update for AMD's catalyst control center, however, I'm not sure if that included a new driver as well, if it did...that would mean two separate drivers and both would be having the same issues.

My primary monitor has no DVI connections, and it's just one cable HDMI > HDMI. My secondary monitor is DVI > DVI.
They're both ASUS monitors with 1080p. Of course, it's the newer of the two causing issues...never had issues with it until the last week or so.

In my above reply, I said I had to play around with some connections to fix the issue. Well, I really had to "trick" my computer to fix it. My widescreen monitor all of a sudden quit displaying 1080x2560 and switched to 1080x1920. It took me a few hours of messing around and I couldnt find a solution to the the problem. If i unplugged my secondary monitor (asus 1080p) then it would magically work again. Well, I found that my main monitor has 3 inputs and i found this by accident: I found that if I have both monitors plugged in and have an extra input hooked up to my main it would trick it to display the correct resolution. It also worked if I hooked up a third monitor. Weirdest thing ever. I know this happened randomly and I think it happened to be the latest drivers doing it. This was like 2 weeks ago and I still have it hooked up with 2 inputs to my main and 1 to my secondary. Tricking my computer into thinking it has 3 monitors.

I thought this might work for you too possibly.

I have seen other members report that connections, specifically HDMI, can have issues on on PCs with multiple display. As radeson suggested, I would play around with it. First thing I would try is simply reversing the connections, so that your main (primary) display is DVI. If you cannot reverse these displays for whatever reason, I do see some other suggestions that may be helpful.

FWIW, I had a display that did not have DVI, but I needed DVI for my video card at the time. I bought a DVI to HDMI cable, and it has been working great for years. You have a different issue of course, but a cable swap like this may have a similarly positive outcome.
