ok. i have no idea how this happened.
Windows 10 pro. Intel 8700k. MSI game MB. 1- 1T NVME drive. One 2T HD. One 1T HD
Windows 10 was installed on the NVME. 2T was Steamgames. 1T was applications (photo editing etc)
I think the NVME died because Win10 would not boot. Would not even go to BIOS (by pressing "Delete" upon start up. Was stuck at the MSI logo.
I disconnected the spinny drives with the plan to just install Linux on the NVME. But again would not go to BIOS. So i pulled the NVME and plugged the two spinners back in. Was going to just
reinstall Win10 on the 1T spinner.
But now the weird part. When i started up the computer with the Win10 USB stick installed. It did not boot to the Win10 install program but win10 started normally. !!?
Windows 10 was now on the 1T spinny drive. The 2T drive was as i left it. Steam and games still there. There were greyed out shortcuts to programs that were on the 1T drive. But the programs were not there. Just Win10 files.
I do not think Win10 did a full install in 1second and i do not think i was abducted by aliens, so no missing time.
Did Win10 install a backup and hidden copy of itself on the 1T spinner when it was working from the NVMe? Otherwise i have no idea how this would have happened.
