Brand new build:
ASUS Z370-E Gaming
32GB Corsair DDR4-2600
i7-8700K, temp below 30C in BIOS
Samsung 960 Pro NVME, temp VERY cool
Windows 10 Flash Drive, using 64 bit
I have built a couple dozen systems in the past, but none with Windows 10,
none with from a flash drive, and none to an NVME drive.
After about 30 minutes ( ! ! ) of loading Windows10 to the NVME,
the system gave the message:
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware change might be the cause . . ."
Nothing I've tried gets beyond that, INCLUDING removing the NVME and replacing
with a 2.5" Samsung 850 Pro SSD. Also tried BIOS defaults.
Did something write to the flash drive which preserves the problem?
To determine whether my hardware is OK, I installed Ubuntu 16.04.03 from a DVD to a clean Samsung SATA SSD. Ubuntu installed without problems and works fine on this platform.
What to do to fix Windows 10?
If all else fails, can I download W10 64bit, burn a DVD, install from DVD, and use the key from the flash drive?
