Windows 10 unable to set default player 4 music cds

I'm familiar with default settings BUT i seem unable to choose VLC Player.
Currently it's set as another player.

Please can anyone assist.

Have you tried reinstalling VLC. Also, can you change it to any other program?

I've ran into some issues where you have to select the default windows program and then select your desired program.

I've not tried reinstalling vlc nor have I tried default W's s's. I'll look at this and get back to you.

I see VLC Player as a choice when I go to System - Default Apps - Music Player

Just tried reinstalling VLC, nothing. Then set as default player, nothing. Also set in file types, nothing.

Just popped "Hendrix in the West" CD into my laptop, and Win10 used VLC player to play it. So it works for me.

When you say you reinstalled VLC, which version did you try?

Hopefully it was downloaded from www.videolan.org.

I searched in Google for VLC player. Not sure which particular site from though.

You should be a bit more careful where you download software from; you could have clicked on a malware site that has bought advertising space. It's reasonably commonplace, especially for open source software, for someone with malicious intent to distribute the actual software but with a few undesirable 'extras'.

Can you change other defaults? Such as the default internet browser?

Is VLC set as your default Music player and Video player?

What about if you remove this other player you mentioned?

How many CDs have you tried?
