did anybody get windows 10 upgrade?
The question is "is the internet going to die when they release it?"
If every copy of win 7, 8 and 8.1 starts downloading several gigs of data it could get interesting!

I believe that is why there is a reserve win10 icon. There will be a queue to download it.
(137 Light Years).
I did know, it was a joke.Light years are not units of time. They are a measure of distance.

I LOL'd
my question is if your win7 is working perfectly fine why would anyone risk mucking it up even if it's free. What is the catch with the free upgrade?
Another reason I said "Light years", was because they are (currently) an IMPOSSIBLE unit of length. (As regards humans, getting to stuff 1000's of light years away).
E.g. If something is 1000 Light years away. Even at the speed of light, we would NOT get there in our lifetimes.
Especially if it is true that you can't exceed the speed of light. (Generally believed to be true, by most scientists).
EDIT: CORRECTION:
If we could travel at close to the speed of light, time would pass very slowly for us (if I remember Einsteins laws correctly), so maybe we could do it.
I'm worried about the FORCED opt in, as regards windows updates.
E.g. I've had to spend about 30 minutes, removing the "forced" windows 10 icon thing.
On Win10, I won't even have the option, to NOT receive the Windows 11 one, etc etc.
I have NOT liked some of the xbox updates. Especially the adverts on the front pages, of the user interface.
I'm worried that Windows 10, at some point, will do something similar, and I will have no way of removing/disabling/refusing the horrible adverts.
Don't get me going about worries about horrible monthly subscription fees, for future Microsoft stuff (SPECULATION, but already talked about for Microsoft Office).
tl;dr
Over a period of years, monthly subscriptions can easily cost WAY more than just paying a one off fee.
$49.99 is much less than $6.99 x 12 Months x 4 years = $335.52 Yikes!
EDIT:
Some of Microsofts Win10 Preview decisions, defy belief, in my opinion.
Such as forcing a keystroke logging program, into the operating system, which you have NO choice in the matter about. Supposedly, just in the preview versions.
To me Keystroke Loggers = Highly Undesirable Software.
tl;dr
The last thing I want, is a built in keystroke logger. For (hopefully) obvious reasons. They had better remove it, for Win10 release.
Oh dear lord. Really?
I did know, it was a joke.
I used light years, because they are so HUGE.
But you're right, I should have said centuries or millennium etc.
My sarcasm detector must not have been plugged in. :whiste:
