Windows 2000 and applications

What do you do with software that requires the user have administrator access to the local machine to run? For example, I have Microsoft Picture it! Publishing 2001 that will not run unless the logged on user has local administrator rights. I do not want the students to have local admin rights on the workstation, because of vandalism, etc.

Here is a little background on our setup: Windows NT domains, workstations have no local accounts and must logon to the network to be used. We use FAZAM to secure the networked workstations.

Am I missing something simple? Any ideas or suggestions is welcomed and appreciated.

I don't remember any more, does NT have "Power Users"? If so, you could try promoting your users, and seeing what happens. If not, you're back to trying to figure out exactly what the application is trying to do that requires greater access than "user".

I agree... try giving them power user rights... power users essentially can do everything an Admin can except install software and remove software/files that they don't own.
