Not sure if it is actually a problem with the mobo. But i suspect it is my K7S5A mobo causing the problem.
My hardware, TBird 1.4G, crucial DDR 2100 512 MB, K7S5A, windows 2000 pro, also has Macfee guardian and Macfee antivirus (V. 4.5)
Here is the symptons:
I assembled the baby about 2 and half months ago and it has been running fine.
A few days ago, when i was using the machine. It suddenly auto-matically restarted itself. And i used the computer for another couple of hours. Then the auto-restart happened again. This time got more serious. Sometimes i can login in but the machine restarted itself 2-3 seconds after that. Sometime it restarted even before i loginned...
I let it rested for 1 night. The second day the problem was the same. But i did actually successfully got a stable login and manage to burn all my data onto my CD by doing a small trick in bios. I set the TBird running at 700 Mhz. After this last luck, i can't login again. No matter what i played with the bios.
The bad luck continues...
Ok, now with the data backed up, i first tried to repair the system using windows 2000 repair and failed...
Then, ok, the last choice - reinstall windows 2000. And I can't re-isntall it!!! In the middle of copying the files, it says some file can't be copied/found and after a couple of skip the files steps, the blue screen error page popped up " a driver corrupted pool memory used for holding pages destine for disk".
