Hmm, tried your suggestion and the only time Autoplay is even an option is when a CD/DVD contains Autorun.inf in the root directory of the CD/DVD. As far as I know, music CDs do not contain the Autorun.inf file. I tried someone else's suggestion which was to toggle the value for Autorun.inf, but upon placing a music CD into the drive it launched automatically. This was not a music CD that contained 'Extra' materials for the PC/Mac (as in CD-Extra).
I know that in Windows 9X there is an option to turn off the 'Auto Insert Notification' feature in the Device manager, but Windows 2000 does not have a Device Manager (Devices). Could this be a service launching at bootup and running in the background?
