Windows 7 iso downloads

I have plenty of Win7 Home 32-bit discs, but I need the 64-bit at the moment, can't find the dvd I had, and the iso links on microsoft's official download site are not working anymore.

any ideas?

In the mean time I'm going to try this starting with the Pro 64-bit dvd I have:

Did the Digital River contract expire with Microsoft? Is that why the links are no longer available? If it did that kind of stinks. Going to Digital River and snagging the ISOs was really handy.

I was able to find a copy of the iso on one of the computers here, so I'm good for today.

I checked the site that lists all the Office 2010 download links that I need to make use of occasionally for people, they wrote up on the site that as of about a week ago files have been continually being removed, currently maybe half are up the other half are gone. Who knows if they're coming back, but I'd say if you think you'll need one of the files in the future, download it and archive it now if you still can.

as an fyi, the tweak I tried in the link I posted in the first post to turn a Windows 7 pro dvd into a dvd capable of installing any version... did not work on my first attempt.

Content providers sometimes have multiple mirrored servers and based on my location dns servers can be directing me to a different server than you are being directed to. There are many possibilities why they might work some places and not others. The only thing I know for certain is they will not download for me from here.

Which is why I needed to seek an alternate solution.

I get the same page when I click on the link. It really bums me out. You mentioned you found an archive on an older computer but did you manage to find a legitimate dl link yet?

Don't know, just tested it to see if it works on my current PC. Worked fine, downloaded in 45 mins. Then, tried to run it, worked fine. Then deleted it.

Those are the same links and they appear to be dead as well.

Not sure if this is going to be temporary or not.. it was nice to have.

But remember, the working links are for the pre service pack 1 (original rtm) releases of Win 7 so if you use these then you'll also need the service pack 1 update.

My suspicion is that they are gone for good. With the push to 8/8.1/8.1.1 I doubt that they want people to have easy access to versions of 7 as then they're competing against themselves.

I would think that the rtm versions will be gone soon as well.

I wondered how long those links might last after 8 was released and got my backup copies of Home Premium sp1 (x86 & 64) a few months ago. Glad I did.

These iso's from microsoft do work for all keys (so long as it's a home prem dvd for home prem oem key, pro for pro, etc). The only thing is you may have to phone in the activation part, but that is it.

I also can testify that these ISO's work, i just installed win 7 from this site and it works, what did not work was my hard drive that failed.

They work fine on a Dell or any other OEM and they don't include whatever lovely bloatware that the OEM may have installed. You get a standard Window installation, not the OEM version.

But you have to activate the mydigitallife ISOs with the Product Key found on the sticker that all OEM PCs are supposed to have when they leave the factory.

Yep--the ISOs were missing for 10 days or so in March, but I hear they are back up and available in the last few days. Get em while you can and keep them somewhere on your HD as there is no assurance they will always be available.
