I have the IP35-E and it works fine. I didn't have to install any drivers they all were installed by Windows I think. The only thing I installed was drivers for the audio since the official drivers give you some extra configuration than the standard Windows ones. I got those from the Realtek website.

Same here as well, I have the IP35-E and the default drivers worked fine - but if you have something other than a two speaker system, then you'll want to get the Realtek drivers for Win 7 64, that is if your using the on board sound....

And I've had no problems or issues.

xxceler8,

Did you find out what was the problem with your Windows 7 x64 installation on the IP35 Pro? I am also having problem. When I restart the computer with the Win 7 DVD in the optical drive it does not boot. When I see the message "Press any key to boot from the CD..." I press the keys and nothing happens. I goes to my Win XP. I already change the boot order in the bios. I tried the same media on other computers and it works OK. I think is something with this motherboard. AHCI? BIOS?
Any help will be appreciated

No problems for me. What I did was double click the disk in windows explorer, run the installer from there. I did not startup from the disk directly because I did the upgrade.

To boot from CD in the IP-35 Pro there is a bug in the BIOS. Keyboard input is disabled for some reason. Reset the CMOS via the switch at the back of the motherboard. Then start up and enter the BIOS. Change nothing except the boot drive to your CD or DVD drive and restart. If you need to use AHCI make sure you set AHCI to be on though or else you won't get the driver installed for it. Set the option for legacy USB support to be on and Keyboard comtrolled via BIOS not OS. See if that helps you out. Once you install windows you can turn off things you don't use and overclock again.

Nope - 32 bit ultimate version installed everything but the kitchen sink - an unknown driver Windows 7 claims is Abit uGuru program.

no problems for me- i got the ip35-pro and w7 64 bit professional. device manager has an unrecognized hardware, which is the uguru board monitoring chip thing. i think installing vista drivers from the ip35 cd should solve it.

If the Intel Raid bios is configured for Raid, the optical drive must be identified in the boot menu by exact name: brand & model number. If you want to be able to boot from the optical drive.
If it's only identified "generically": "CD Rom Drive" or similar, it won't be able to boot while the bios is set for Raid. The optical drive should also be connected to SATA connector number 4 or 5, and the Raid array HD's to connectors 0, 1, 2 or 3.

IP35-E here and I had no problems installing beta,RC, or the final release on my rig.
Default drivers were good, however 1st Windows update wanted to install new driver for my ATI 3870x2 vid card. I installed and was greeted with a black screen. Sticking with drivers direct from ATI and it's all good.

Where can you get the realtek drivers for windows 7 64 bit for the IP35 Pro? I looked on the website and abit has an old r190, and i'm not sure what to find on the realtek website.

I'm having a hell of a time getting Win7Pro 64 up and running on this mobo. Config:
IP35 Pro
Q6700
ATI 4870
IDE master drive
4gb corsair twinx 2x2gb
Corsair 520HX

After installing, my computer hangs at the "starting windows" screen after the 2nd installation reboot. Cannot get it to budge from this screen. I've unplugged all unnecessary hardware, messed with a bunch of bios settings, checked the dvd i burned, also tried installing from USB stick, to no avail. I really have NO clue as to what to do here, I feel like I've tried everything.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Best,
-Dirk

For the IP35-E I don't remember if I used the R 1.90 or got these from the Realtek website. I think I got them from the Raltek website. Go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ and Click High Definition Audio Codecs (Software). Then you can download Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (zip or exe are both same pick whichever you like best).

I am not really sure since my IP35-E installed fine, but I would try a different hard drive. Also try with 1 stick of RAM and test the RAM with memtest. Also you can try changing the hard drive mode in the BIOS from IDE/AHCI. Some people are also reporting power supply issues see http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/2064-63-windows-install-hangs-starting-windows-screen You can try swapping in a different one for the install and then putting yours back in (the people in that thread have a Corsair 950W power supply)(I am using the Corsair 450W fine though). Also what happens if you just let it sit there for say 20 minutes?

Chiming in here as well.. IP35-E with no issues on 7-64. Have probably used RC about 6-7 months, and official 7-64 pro since the CD came in the mail after release date.

Seems like you might have a faulty MB or hardware, dirkdigles.

Thanks guys - guess what it was?

My freaking wireless NIC was keeping it from booting. I have an old D-link DWL-G520 wireless card from like 2003, and once I removed it, everything went smoothly. Apparently it doesn't work in Win7-64 at all, and D-link stopped supporting it a year ago. Strange because it was working fine in Win7-32. Woo hoo!

I had no issue w/ Win7 RC on my ip35pro. I'd be willing to bet that your issue is one of these two:
A. Bios setting regarding keyboard at boot time, you might need to plug in a ps2 keyboard for install, or fix the setting.
B. Wrong boot order/device priority.

ps my ip35 pro mobo died 2wks ago

i am having a lot of problems with ip35 pro and 64 bit windows 7. 32bit version installed and runs allright but 64 bit version has been a problem after spending 5 hours no luck. i have updated to latest bios version 17. installation initially took a long time and was very slow between screens. when it finally installed shutdown was very slow and the computer in general did not fell right. after installing the latest bios installation was quicker but did not complete.

i suspect the problem is i am trying to install on a raid 1 configuration. all the hardware is quite good and was running for some years now windows xp (had some problems with pc rebooting with blue screen instead of shutting down when requested). i have 4 gb of ram, q8200, a good psu (enermax liberty) and a graphis card geforce 8400 which I doubt would cause any problems. I am out of ideas any suggestions?

controller is set to raid mode.

has anybody installed win7 64bit on abit ip35pro and raid 1? i suppose next plan is to try to install on one disk only in AHCI.

It being slow definately sounds like a driver issue. After you installed you should have tried to get the latest RAID drivers from the Intel or JMicron website (I am not sure which one you need/are using since I don't have a IP35 Pro).

If it crashes during install try loading 3rd party drivers before the windows install? Or try the AHCI / RAID options. Maybe use the Intel storage matrix manager or configurator.
Also are you using the Jmicron SATA slots or the Intel ones?

Maybe someone else can help, I don't have the IP35 Pro or have RAID. Making a new thread in the motherboard forum might give better answers.
