I didn't realize Win 7 was available through MSDN AA already, guess I had assumed it wouldn't be available until closer to the retail release date. Thanks for the heads up, am downloading it now.

There's a thread over at slickdeals for this that has a good summary. I did this last week Wednesday, had win7 Friday.

Ultimate is not available - only the RC is listed. You only get Pro. And there are only 4 keys - one for each version French and English x86 and x64. Keys for any of them will work on any version.

How long did it take ACM to process your payment?

Yeah, realized it was RC. Would be nice if they had Ultimate.

For Windows 7 Ultimate?

no Professional

all I am missing is Bit locker and that boot from VHD or something like that. and its free so not bad.

Signed up Wednesday afternoon, had been processed mid-day Thursday sometime. Had my MSDN account Friday morning.

Is this still valid? I don't see any mention of MSDN AA access on the membership benefits page.

Edit: I'm looking at the professionals membership page.

I just signed my daughter up for the student package. I'm awaiting payment confirmation to access the software.

If you are in science or engineering you should check your department's website.. my school has it's own MSDN AA portal so I didn't have to sign up or pay for anything.

MSDN AA is also offered through the IEEE. A half-year student membership is only US$16.

Signed up for this, and while everything took a few days to go through and I had to do a decent amount of reading to know just what to do, I now have a copy of Windows 7 pro burned and ready to install. Now I just have to decide if I want to go through the annoyance of installing a new OS and reinstalling all of my programs.

MSDNAA software is good forever. You can't sell it or anything, but you can keep using it after your subscription expires, and on different machines(still 1 key per machine though)

Posting from my Win 7 pro installation. Great society to be a part of. Already worth the $20 membership.

I saw this on Hard forums and bought it as well. Just finished putting 7 on my laptop and everything works fine. Now i need to get around to doing it on my desk, which is harder with all my stuff.

I just signed up with ACM as well, my recepit say Approval Appending, but i was able to create a web account on their website after I submit the information to sign up with them. Im assuming it will take 1 or 2 days until I can get the information emailed to me that I need to access msdn?

It took me 2 days altogether to get setup for downloading. You first get sent a link to opt in for the MSDN software. After you follow that link and opt in, it takes another day to set you up.
