I don't get it

I think people want to install the RTM and install their apps and get on with it. The RC is time bombed and won't be able to be directly upgraded.

Exactly.
We are tired of the dual boots and we find all our hardware is supported as well as the thing being remarkably stable. Let's quit wasting time and start getting productive.
And what's up with the planned couple of weeks delay in getting it out to MSDN & TechNet Subscribers?

Bear in mind you are the minority,RTM will be ready when Microsoft are happy and say so ,don't forget OEM companies are the ones that are their main customer not you,big difference from a few AT members annoyed with minor delay then major OEM companies giving Microsoft hell over premature release, besides whats a few weeks?..also if you installed RC or early RTM build then its your own fault since you know the risks and should expect delays etc...its done when its done, patience goes a long way .

There are some issues in the RC causing problems for some. If you have to download a newer version I would download 7260 . It is so close to the RTM that you really can't tell the two apart. It also will let you register with the RC key.

Where can I get the 7260 version?

Still not released on Technet (7/15, 10:30 CST) - not sure I'd trust the torrent until you have at least seen a legitimate release from Microsoft show up on MSDN or Technet. At this point why hassle with a gray/interim build with word that the real RTM is so close to release?

I wouldn't be checking for it any time soon as Microsoft is saying that MSDN & TechNet subscribers will be able to download the final version of Windows 7 a few weeks after RTM is announced.

Currently MS says end of July for RTM. They also said it'll take a few weeks before it shows up on MSDN and Technet so I wouldn't expect a real RTM to hit anywhere until roughly mid-August.

Can WZOR be trusted?
No. It's a lot like The Inquirer, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.

It should be. There were 8500+ votes needed for the build to be RTM, it has to be unanimous. Yesterday there were 24 people that voted against it being RTM. So those 24 people must have talked it over and decided that whatever they thought was important enough to hold the RTM was something that could be done later in a hotfix and not worth an entirely new build.

no idea how accurate that is, but it claims 7600 is hacked version of the RC build (just made to show 7600 in the build info)
I don't doubt that someone did that, but there are definitely legit copies out there. A number of files are signed, including the installers. You can't fake the version number without breaking the signature.

He is full of crap.
There is no way that it is the same build. 7100 was totally different in a lot of ways. Help files, backgrounds, options. There is also the digital signatures. Unless some hacker has access to the MS RSA 2048 bit internal signatures there is no way it is a hacked together build from the RC files.

last line, dunno if its accurate or not though. Seems it is gonna be 16385, but still need a clean iso. Friday should be the day.

7600.16385.090713-1255 is confirmed as the official RTM build, according to Steven Sinofsky "today after all the validation checks were met, we signed off and declared build 7600.16385 as RTM."

Well, I'm guessing some of the 'insider' types might have gotten their hands on RTM build already.. So I have a question. Not too long ago (@Computex?) AMD/NV/MS were showcasing drag-n-drop transcoding of video clips to portable devices in real time. (presumably via GPU acceleration) Does anyone know how this works?
