I'm currently in the process of setting up my new Surface Pro 3 (SP3) and I'm trying to figure out how to handle the Windows Accounts I'll be setting up, and the best way to sync with those I already have on my desktop.
On my desktop, I'm currently running everything on a local admin account, but do have a Microsoft Account login for OneNote, which I assume is also my OneDrive login (?)
As I set up the SP3, I'd like to transition to running primarily under a User account, for security purposes.
To keep it semi-concise, I'll try to list my questions:
1. Can I replace my current local account (desktop/admin) with my current MS Account credentials (desktop/OneNote) so that all my current settings, etc. will then be tied to the MS Account credentials?
2. On my new SP3, should I first set up a local admin account, and then set up the MS account as a User, such that it would then keep that User account synced with my desktop?
3. At what point should I activate bitlocker, UAC, and/or any other security setting on the SP3? (I'm not currently using bitlocker on my desktop, so not sure if that makes a difference)
Any other setup/transition/security tips appreciated...
