BS,change is change and you always get some people moaning, you can bet Win9,10 there will still be some people moaning about something and trying to justify it with an excuse or two.

john_mceroe_you_cannot_be_srsus.gif

things like, losing all the basic windows tools (calculator, reader, f* Skype) if you disable AUC?

things like not being give permission by MY PC to work on MY FILES?

things like Microsoft wanting to go Apple on your ass and shoveling YouWantThisWeSaySo-ware down your throat, while not actually fixing any of the things we want fixed or give us the things we actually want?

Yes, "No OS Is Perfect(tm)", but this is not about it being not perfect, its about it being malicious.

See you can have a perfect OS and yet it could be malicious; you could have a not perfect OS, but if it's not malicious, then it's preferable.

Not only M$ assumes i want to give over my PC to them AND that they should decide when to spend my money and on what, but they don't even make the assumption that people might NOT be like that.

Microsfot doesn't think you might NOT want to store your data on the cloud.
M$ doesnt think you might NOT want to use one of their softwares (Silverlight can DIAF) and god they certainly cannot even conceive you might not want their firewall or antivirus.

W8 doesnt understand as a whole that the Windows market is NOT made of idiots. (insert Apple joke here).
For me, i'm going back to 7 since i game and the f****ng stuttering and mouse lag is ridiculous in what is supposed to be a modern OS;
Do i *really* have to use Marc C's mouse fix every time i install a microsoft product because those morons can't have a f*k "use RAW input" checkbox?

Where is my audio channel control? Why are we still getting files locked in explorer? WHY does every single install start with automatic services which serve no purpose to ANYONE except microsoft.
Is it too hard to have the bluetooth service set to MANUAL instead of automatic?

tbh i dont know how W7 managed to come out so good. they must have stolen it from the chinese or something.

You don't need to disable UAC ,you might as well just throw all security out the Window and invite every type of malware on your system, everybody knows calculator,Skype,PDF reader in Win8 are easy to find.

Audio control again is not hard(Control Panel or sound icon on taskbar in my case for channel selection).
Win7 is not a great OS ,in fact there are a lot of Linux distros that are far ahead of Win7 or any Windows OS....I would even argue Win8 is not much different from Win7 if you put Metro aside.

You don't need to store your data on Cloud, your choice on what you do so don't know where you got that idea from.

I could go on but a lot of your statements/arguments are pointless and invalid IMHO.

Last comment is simple since nobody is forced to use Win8,7 or any OS you want to name, don't like it don't use it simple as that.
Regardless moaners will queue up for Win9,10,11 etc some things don't change.

do i really need to be asked every time i want to perform an operation, if i want to perform that operation? because that is what you will get if you keep UAC.

do you know what it's like to put a folder on your system, and then being told "you have no permission to access that file"?

do i really need to right click any command i want to run and select "run as administrator" on a pc where I AM the administrator?

using avast (or AVG occasionally) in these last nine years i have had the following malware infections:

none.

audio control if pitiful. to do something as simple as route an mp3 through my microphone requires two standalone software and registry hacks.

the registry itself is a laugh; i have to regularly use regedit and mscconfig just to do basic things which should be already implemented (like make me the administrator of the system i am the f* administrator of) and made optional to work as MSFT wants.

the cloud service uses up a Gb of my SSD space even if i don't use it. WHY should i throw out money and space for an additional feature which i do not require and M$ made hard to disable - registry hacks again.

WHY is it so hard to run unsigned drivers when i WANT to run unsigned drivers.

note how the magic word here is I WANT to perform a specific action. If i want to kill a service depends on or delete an important windows file i should be given one warning and then i should be allowed to DO AS I WANT on my hardware.

I must remind you that the very definition of Operating System is " a software which allows control of your hardware", not "some entity which decides what your hardware will do without asking for your consent".

We're getting frightfully close to the Fritz chip here, and without even considering how f* bad W8 performs in games, it's horrible compared to W7, "which the world runs on, and not Linux".

Honestly, the irony of your statement about my statements being pointless, being pointless, is too damn high. I see you have your opinion set and there is no valid argument that will make you see the truth.

Funny that you should have such a liberal statement in your sig, and then defend the control freaks Microsoft have become.
Maybe you just liked the prisoner for its visual style, yes?

Most members here know I'm more of a Linux fan then Windows and never get worked up over a simple OS like Windows whatever version is the topic, end of the day plenty of choices out there so not like you have no choice.

Microsoft will do what they think is right regardless of what you or I think so why should I defend them or get worked up over their OS,fact is no Windows version is any real hassle for me.

Gaming is my real pleasure with Windows so not like I can't do that even in Win8.1.

Speaking of gaming I've not encountered any real issues, just finished playing X-COM Apocalypse on Win8.1 x64 which is a pre Win98 game ,so general compatibility even with very old games is very good.

WHY is it so hard to run unsigned drivers when i WANT to run unsigned drivers.

That was down to Microsoft to improve security and stability.

End of the day we all have different expectations on every OS out there.
Having said all that I look forward to Win9 to see what changes and new features they come up with.
