Windows 8 was simply created to sell more copies of windows 7.

At first, I immediately felt "helpless" and jumped onto the "Windoze 8 sux omgzz" bandwagon but after some time, it's definitely not that bad at all. Especially once you learn how to use it. In the age of apps etc.

Its funny after all these years and so many questionable product launches, you would think they would make the desktop edition as close to feeling like 7 as possible. 7 is well regarded, openly accepted as a decent OS.

Then they pull this stunt. And yes its a stunt. They knew the backlash. This is not a time to be doing this. Things are changing for the worse out there and consumers don't feel the need to cowtow to MS.

The smart money is giving the desktop distro a Windows 7 look and feel and admitting their mistake. Sell us the goddam benefits and stop trying to antagonize your user base.

Kin = Absolutely fantastic device held back by horrid Verizon Wireless data pricing.

Windows Phone = As an iOS user, I can honestly say Windows Phone is brilliant. The only thing holding it back is developer support which is holding back user adoption...which is holding back developer support.

Vista was also an excellent OS. 7 is only Vista with a new taskbar.

Yep Vista was/is an excellent OS,my second favourite after Win7,it got a lot of FUD and bad press due to poor drivers/crappy hardware using Vista etc....which you can't blame on Vista,I used Vista for 4 years for general use and beta gaming and it was excellent,Win7 is just a polished version of Vista not surprising since Win7 is based on Vista but Vista haters won't tell you that,Win7 also had advantage of mature drivers newer OEM PC hardware at launch over Vista plus in most cases you could use Vista drivers on 7(plus a few years on polishing Win7).

Problem with Win8 its not a bad OS,nobody here can say that due to not being officially launched yet,however it appears to be more of a tablet looking OS for the average person that sees or uses it,I'm a desktop user but willing to give 8 a try at official launch and not judge it just yet,sure I have used beta version of Win8 etc... so I can see like you what Microsoft have done with 8.

Win7 is my favourite Windows OS at moment followed by Vista however Win8 is a gamble by Microsoft,not because its unstable or bad OS but the way in which 8 is going on layout etc...you can have a great OS with stability/features etc but if people don't like layout they will always find something to moan about or stay away from it.


We will always get people moaning about new operating systems that Microsoft release(happens all the time) I can remember the Win98 SE via Win2K and XP argument at AT forums decades ago,nobody is forcing people to use Win8 so they can't really complain too much,you always have Linux based OS as well as Win7 here for quite awhile.



Trolls will always be around unfortunately,I'm still open on Win8 and willing to give it another shot at official launch,end of the day you have a choice on Win8 or not.

No, they bitch and moan because the product is different than before and they dislike the changes. Their opinion isn't immediately invalidated simply because you disagree with it.

And how is anyone supposed to know that right-clicking there does anything at all? How is that in anyway intuitive?
