Hi, this is kind of a old question, but I need to upgrade a machine with Win98 to Win98 SE
Is there an easy way to do this without wiping out the old drive, I'd like to keep registry settings and drivers intact if possible. Thanks
Just pop in the CD and Win98SE will detect the "older version" and ask if you want to upgrade. It will (should?) keep all your old settings just fine. Did for me anyway. Good luck!
I tried it already, but after 'collecting system info' it says that it cannot upgrade it. was there an upgrade only version of Win98SE?, I'm using the full version.
There is an upgrade only version out there... that's the one I have. Seems strange though that the full version can't detect an older version and upgrade it. I'm at a loss... anyone else?
