[windows]; Access denied...WTF?!?

I have a few folders on a backup drive that I use to store programs, tv shows, etc....a few of the folders contain directories which for some apparent reason I don't have access to...when I try to enter or remove the directories it just says access denied...the particular folder was an ATI folder that is empty but I used to extract a driver to. anyone know how to get around it? I tried restarting windows a billion times since I emptied the folder, and just recently formatted my hard drive...still the same error..any ideas?

the drive that you get the error on, is from a different computer?

I had a similar issue with some accquired scsi drives. I managed to pull some data off them by playing around with the permissions, but ultimately I just ended up formating them... (it was all windows install files anyway)

sent you a pm from your locked post on FS/FT I take it you have win 2k or XP? if so than read my PM taking ownership of the folder will fix the problem.

yes, if you recursivly take ownership and than re-assign the permissions you will be able to have access (assuming you have admin. privilages).
