hello,
I did a fresh install of windows 7, installed all my drivers and apps, then ran the Windows Experience Index with no problem.
I then installed all the important security updates through windows update, ran CCleaner and shutdown the PC for the night.
The next day I tried re running the assessment and I got the "Failed to properly assess the disk. The parameter is incorrect" error.
When I first ran the assessment and it was successful I had only 1 m.2 nvme hard drive installed. The next day I installed my 2 internal and 1 eSATA regular storage drives, so I'm not sure if the additional drives being installed is causing the problem or maybe 1 of the windows updates or CCleaner is causing the error.
I did some searching and tried the suggestion of deleting the files in %windir%\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore which didn't help.
Another suggestion said to change the location of the temp and TMP directories in Advanced system settings, environment variables to C:\Users\"My User Name"\AppData\Local\Temp which did not help either.
I also looked through all of the suggested windows updates and didnt see any related to windows experience index.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
thanks
