I setup a box for windows home server and I must say I am pretty impressed. Has anyone else tested the RC out?
The machine I am using is Pentium 4 with 2 GBs of RAM, way overkill for the usage it however the kicker is I needed a tower with space for lots of hard drives, the motherboard was something that worked in it. Its a TJ06 Silverstone with 5 400GB Seagate drives.
I did an initial install with a Raid 1 and a Raid5 data set. After installing server it turns out I didn't probably don't need them at all. I am debating on letting the OS install on a single drive grow the storage and manage the data duplication in a non raid set. I don't see that I am getting much benefit from the speed of the CPU dependent controllers, but I could be mistaken.
Anyhow I like the product and think it has a place in my house after it goes public.
