Is there anyway to open several pages in tabs, like firefox?

I think he means opening several homepages simultaneously on individual tabs upon launching the program.

I'd bet there is, but I don't use the program so I can't confirm that or tell you how.

A: Yes, you can set multiple homepages and have them all open upon opening the program.

A: How is it locking up? What behaviors cause it? Did you install manually or via Windows Update?

A: Yes, it will give you this option when you go to close IE with multiple tabs open.

A: I have not had this issue, do all of your Favorites links work okay if you double-click them from the folder they're stored in?

Without hacking all you can do is show and lock the menu bar, and fully collapse the buttons on the right.

Behavior? I double-click to load it up, blank IE window comes up, nothing happens, nothing happens, can't close window, everything else is unaccessible, must reboot.

I did the Windows update first, then manually downloaded it. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times, but still have same problem.

That is very bizarre, especially that you have tried that many times from scratch.

How old is your Windows install? Did IE6 work properly before trying IE7? Running processes? Any issues with FF or Opera ever?

Q1: Is there a way to make it do this everytime wihtout having to deal with the dialog? (if you check the "don't ask me again" it'll uncheck the "open tabs next time".

Q2: Is there an add on for mouse gestures anywhere?

Q3. Is there a way to reorient the tabs to the bottom of the screen?

As far as I'm concerned those are the only things holding the program back.

I actually did a Windows install recently because I updated my motherboard. IE6 worked pretty well, but there were times where it wouldn't load at all unless I rebooted first. IE7 has been nothing but trouble.

I can confirm the problem. The links are in some odd way removed from the files.
It seems to happen to random favorits. If I go to the folder where the favorits are stored I see that the icons have changes too.
Looking at the properties there is a difference too. The "Web Document" tabs are gone. So as I said the link has been erased.. odd!!??
