Windows Phone for T-mobile

Hi,

I need to get a new cell phone, and I'm locked to T-Mobile for the time being. I loved my last windows phone (HTC 8x) and desperately want to stay on the windows platform. I was looking at the Lumia 635, which seems to be the best windows phone that T-Mobile officially offers, and its ok, but I was wondering if there were better phones available for T-Mobile. I've looked at an unlocked BLU Win HD, which I'm slightly suspicious of because I've never heard of BLU. My budget is anything <$300. Any thoughts?

Other phones should work as long as they support Tmobile's frequencies. AT&T phones work...

I recall a few years back when I was using an AT&T phone, I had a mis match and was stuck on 2G (Edge). Then one day Tmobile did some refarming and I started to get 3G.

As long as you in a metropolitan area, you should have LTE or re-farmed HSPA+.

The HTC One M8 is available, isn't it? That's what I'm using on T-Mobile, and it's currently the best Windows Phone available on any carrier. That said, if you're looking for a temporary phone in a pinch, the Lumia 635 really isn't bad for the money at all. I picked one up on an Amazon gold box deal for $30 full price, at that rate, it's pretty amazing. Performance is surprisingly snappy, screen is low resolution and a bit washed out but again, for the money, you can do a lot worse.

edit: nevermind, saw the budget, guess that rules out the One M8.

Good news, the Nokia 1520's are on a flash sale on Ebay.

However, I don't know how reputable the seller is. The good news is that it is factory refurbished phones. ATT Unlocked 16GB RM-940, so they work on T-Mobile LTE.

Edit: just saw Deeko's post above and why this won't work. Well, maybe it's an option if you can find one on swappa/other places for ~$350 and don't mind spending a bit more.

BLU is fine, though you'll probably get better camera quality out of any Nokia.

I've had the 1520 and the Android version of the M8. Both are excellent, if you can find them under $300. Personally, I'd go for the 635, or buy a cheap 521 until the 640 or 640 XL are available in the United States (next month?).

FWIW, I have the 635 on T-Mobile and it does everything that I want/need it to do except for one thing. My bank does not have a mobile app for Windows phone. Other then that the 635 has been a pretty good phone for me.
