Just put together new rig a week or so ago , and trusty WinME ( LOL ) is giving me grief by crashing as soon as I even think of overclocking either video or CPU.
System is as follows :-
XP1800+ ( unlocked L1 bridges )
Alpha PAL8045 & 108cfm 120mm fan ( controlled down to around 70cfm so I don't go deaf )
Epox 8kha
256Mb PC2100
Leadtek GF3 Ti200 TDH
Full tower ( 4x80mm fans - 2 in 2 out ) & 300w PSU
LiteOn 32x12x40 CDRW
20Gb Quantum Fireball ATA100 HDD
Dynalink 56k internal modem
Any attempt at overclocking results in BSOD > reset > Safe Mode > Device Manager > disable just about everything > reboot > get everything back to normal > back to where I started > hit head against brick wall
Video temp OK
System 21C , CPU 37C
All BIOS settings standard
No conflicts
Tried all the fixes I could find
- disabled ACPI
- disabled PNP OS
- disable PCI bus IRQ steering
- plenty of IRQ's , none sharing
+ a few others
No clues on BSOD as to error - just says restart system
Anyone out there got any suggestions?
