Windows Server 2012 and KVM question

I wanted to know if anyone here has experience administering a Win2012 server with a software KVM?

Unfortunately since the system is in a remote secured location, I have to do setup and configuration using a software KVM (Dell Baseboard Management Controller similar to HP's iLO system). The mouse is completely useless for navigating and almost impossible when combined with the hot corners. I've mostly been using Power Shell and some scripts to setup the system, but it would be useful, since this is Windows, to actually use the GUI from time to time.

Any ideas?

BTW, I don't have direct access to the console and I can't hook up a better IP KVM such as OmniView or Raritan.

Hmmm, I didn't have any trouble setting up my Dell 2012 box using the iDRAC remote console... Of course I switched to RDP once the install and basic setup was complete.

I can't RDP to the system since it's on a private network. I pretty much have to VPN into a box that the remote admins have setup with limited port availability and do the BMC session from there. I've done it before with 2008 R2, but with 2012 it's really stretching my patience.

whats the problem? Just saying the mouse is useless isn't exactly descriptive.

Are you using the Java plugin or the activeX one? Try the other. Did you try making the window full screen? Go to tools and select "Single Cursor" to see if that helps.

2012 with RDP is a pain too unless you use fullscreen.

Dell's Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) is a Java interface. There isn't an Active X option. Active X is only available on Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC). BMC is basic management and doesn't have all of the features of DRAC. Believe me, if I could use DRAC, I would.
There is no Single Cursor option.
You can't fullscreen it.

The major problems when dealing with Metro's hot corners (sometimes it's nearly impossible hover over hot corners with a virtual mouse) and attempting to work inside of MegaRaid WebBios raid controller.
Most of the Metro stuff I can work around with hotkeys, but unformationately the Raid configuration is something I can't script. Yes, I realize the MegaRaid problem has nothing to do with Win2012, but the Metro is still problem.

The systems I'm working on are Dell C2100 BTW.

Anyway, it appears that the answer I have is "deal with it". Which is an acceptible answer. I just wanted to know if anyone else had ideas.

Things like Mouse without Borders, Synergy, Input Director, etc don't work for this particular situation. I don't have admin permissions on the box that I VPN into and I can't install third party software of that nature (constant streaming data through TCP/IP) without going through a lengthy approval process.

Basically if I was in a situation where I could use MWB, I would just Remote desktop instead.

Oh, I didn't even realize the BMC had a console interface. OK, I guess you are screwed then. I have only used DRAC on all my systems.
