Windows Small Business Server 2003??

I didn't know where to post this, so maybe I'd ask here, if not moderators, please move to the approriate forum. Sometime last year Microsoft had a deal on their website where you could get a full version of Windows XP Professional along with other stuff (baseball cards, gum, a bobblehead doll) for $49 or something like that if you were a valid business member.

Well today on my doorstep the Airborne Express leaves a box and inside is the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition and I think it's linked to that earlier promotion. My question to you guys is did anyone else get this? I didn't get anything in my email about possibly receiving this or anything. Thanks guys.

Yeh I received the same thing. I got in on the XP deal with the Lava lamp and last thursday received the Small Business Server 2003. I was going to post something last thursday but wasn't sure where to post it so I just made a comment in a thread on how to get Small Business Server 2003 free.

THE SBS 2003 that you received is an evaluation copy most likely. There was a hot deal about it a few months ago.

Yah I also got that. its a NFR copy of small business server 2003, the license doesnt say however that it is a NFR CAL license so who knows. I am "selling" my copy to a friend who needs it for his internal network, but i dont think i would be ballsy enough to try selling it on ebay.

yeah i saw that, whats the deal? 300$? they cant sell a NFR copy on there, thats insane.

Yeah, it's rather risky of them to do that too. I read somewhere about a person doing that and Microsoft finding out, and then they get fined like $30,000 :Q

I hope the people selling these get some kind of retribution. I got in on it too but there is no way I am screwing the system like some. If people keep doing this, MS isn't going to be so nice anymore.

btw, if it is nfr then both the box (certificate of authenticity) and the cd will clearly say NFR. last time i got the windows server 2k3 it clearly said NFR. if it doesn't say that then i think u can sell it.
