Mine works perfectly fine in Vista x64 with 8GB or ram.

What model do you have? Mine's the PVR-2250.

I did a little looking around and saw that it seems to be the PCI models that are affected. I hadn't heard of anything like this. What happens when you run WMC? Does it just cut the overall amount of RAM available to the system to 4GB or are there errors/crashes?

Interesting.

If my WMC you mean Windows Media Center, which I almost positive you are, then it just shows a stationary hardly moving picture with no sound. Sometimes like it wants to do sound but it just is like a loud static at points.

Once I do the fix in that link the video and audio is normal again the problem is I lose 4 GB of ram sense I have 8 GB of ram. Royally sucks. Thankfully I don't really use my tv tuner often but decided to reinstall it this evening. Now it looks like I won't be able to keep it in my system unless I keep my system seeing only 4 GB of ram or go back to 32 bit windows. I refuse to do either long turn wasting my other 4 GB of ram. Just glad I didn't have to take out ram to get this problem working. There is no way I would of went through all of that trouble.

Wow. That really is a bummer. I was looking at the comments on one of the pages and a guy wrote, "you'd have to be some kind of stupid to code a driver that way". So true.

Sorry I couldn't help more!

i'm actually surprised it works with Win7.
and i'm even more surprised it can be tweaked to work with 64-bit.

when they engineered it, 64bit support wasnt a priority.
maybe you should get one of the new Hi-Def models and watch HD over-the-air.

Thats true luckily I rarely watch tv anymore. So it is not to big of a deal. Plan on just throwing it away.

I am using one in Win 7 32 bit and it runs fine in media center without the need for hauppauge drivers or software.

Looks like running a tv tuner in a system with more than 4 GB of ram is tougher than I thought. I can't believe this is such a big issue and hope it is fixed sooner or later. Just glad I hardly ever watch live tv anymore. I would be really angry if I had to do this work around ever time I wanted to watch tv.
