Windows Vista Blue Screens

So my computer has been randomly bluescreening for like a year now.

It was under warranty so i sent it to the factory and they told me it wasn't a hardware problem and they reformatted my HD and sent it back. Still it randomly restarts,

So we just tried to reformat it again and it seemed to be going okay until i installed the first abtch of windows updates, after those sucessfully were installed the bluescreening started again.

So im jsut gonna keep trying to update it does anyone know what the problem is??

Google the first set of numbers in the BSOD error code.

Also check Event Viewer

If your system has been formatted and still has the same problem, it's clearly a hardware problem.

+1, Are you overclocking anything? Did you run memtest?

I agree with Billb2 you need to research the errors you can post them here if your cant seem to find any info on them. Is you computer set to restart automatically on crash I will post a link so you can disable it?

So, i full out uninstalled my video driver and that helped reduce the frequency of this... It never happened until i got SP1 on here so I'm wondering if SP1 causes some sort of conflict?

So my next question is if theres anyway to uninstal SP1 that someone could tell me?

What other MS updates did you install beside SP1? No way uninstall SP1 to my knowledge does it show up in Programs and Features for uninstall? Not sure if System Restore would work maybe someone else has tried.

also check the mobo makers webboards (if they have one). my 690G/M2A-VM is a finicky bastard during install but is rock solid once everything's installed.

edit: did the computer COME with vista?

yeah it came with it, and it seems to be impossible to reformat with XP.

I guess ill just try the makers website for updates... i just dont know what it could be if its not a hardware problems
