I am getting my copy of Windows Vista Home Premium full edition, OEM for $157.00 Canadian tomorow (30 Jan 2007).

With taxes, (14%) grand total is $178.98

Anybody else is getting Vista tomorow?

If so what version are you getting and at what price?

I hope this is not a repost.

I'm not getting it until I feel the need to get a DX10 card. And since games such these days, that will probably never happen.

I don't see any compelling features in Vista to make me want to upgrade from XP, and Vista is completely DRM riddled, so I'm avoiding it until it's absolutely inevitable.

Definitely not ... Windows ME ruined any sort of launch day excitement that I'll ever have for any OS. Piece of garbage that.

Plus, my hardware won't run Vista too smoothly anyway ... maybe after my next major upgrade.

Got mine a week ago in the UK,installed it yesterday(Vista OEM x64 HP).

Initial impressions, stability is excellent, all my hardware works (only my Leadtek DTV tuner has no drivers at the moment),printer works great and the few games I have tried ie Oblivion run good.

I have 1 copy each of Ultimate and Business, and 2 copies of Home Premium (OEM for all) due to arrive from Newegg tomorrow courtesy of my friendly UPS driver.

I'm still waiting for my Action Pack update with 10 Vista Business licenses (along with 10 Office 2007 Enterprise licenses) to arrive. They've been shipped, so any day now...

Been running Vista Ultimate (Technet Plus DL) since mid Nov. I hate it. About 40% of my games don't work. File copying takes forever. DRM hell... Rundll crashes all of the time (granted the apps in question aren't labeled vista compatible but WTF) Startup takes an eon (6+ minutes) and many other problems. On the plus side the areo interface is cool and runs with no issues. The computer itself (when started) is very responsive, and ReadyBoost does work as advertised. The games that do work, work flawlessly, but slightly slower. Almost all of my hardware works great (problems with a scanner but not life-treatening) A mixed bag to be sure, BTW this is on a 3.4 P4 with 3GB of RAM, 600GB of total disk space, Audigy 2ZS and a nVidia 7800GS AGP. I'll give it a 6 out of 10. Its not going on any of my other machines until SP1

No.. I don't need it yet
I have been beta testing it and it works fine but slows my AMD Atlon XP 2500+ down quite a bit. My new computer is working fine with XP pro 64

Imagination is right on the money. I just built a computer a month ago and decided to setup RAID for kicks and giggles. And just the second time I loaded XP Pro 64, I had to call Microsoft to get it activated. I told the person on the phone that this is my new fun computer and I may be building and rebuilding it several times. "am I going to have to call you over and over?" She said "maybe" ggggrrrrrrr

Well, I've been running it since it hit MSDN across various machines and not seen any of these issues. It sounds like there are some issues with your installation - it should boot quicker than XP if anything.

I have a pre order and will be getting my full retail copy of home premium as soon as it reaches SA. I paid R 2231.41 not sure what it's in dollars but it's more than MS suggested pricing but the cheapest I could find in SA. We got over charge for everything.

The reason for going to vista right now is quite simple. I have a dx10 card and vista has dx10. The only worry is driver support. I won't install my copy till I have all the drivers needed for my system.

Well in the spirit of full disclosure this was an in-place upgrade. I will try a full rebuild some other time. but I still stand by my opinion

I will get it this week, but I probably won't install it until Mars or April when the rest of my new computer upgrade hardware parts have been bought. I'm certainly not in a hurry to install it anyway. And since it's OEM then the price differences from now and in two months won't be that big, if simply non-existent, so getting it now or in two months won't make a difference to me. I'll just get it this week for the sake of getting it this week ...

I'm getting it as soon an my University gets it, but then again I only have to pay 15 bucks, so price really isn't an issue

Be interesting to see what happens with a clean install, I'll be honest I've not done any upgrades yet.

mine is currently sitting in the lockup cage at Sam's Club, reserved by a Click N' Pull order on Saturday AM. I happened to go by and nicely asked if I could get it and the lady pointed to it and said "street date of 1/30, sorry hun".

I saw it!!! *sniff*

I'm such a consumer sheep sometimes. baa-baa.

My university said they probably won't have it until March, so be happy you only have to wait till tomorrow.
