- Windows will not load
(brief "Cliff Notes" description of the problem)
- I installed new 15.17 nVidia drivers for my mobo, EVGA 122-CK-NF68. I rebooted and can not get to Windows. After the splash screen, there is nothing. It is just a blank screen. The HDD lights ocassionally blink; I don't think it is hung. I just can not get to the log in screen. After using F8 to boot to safe mode, my keyboard and mouse would not work; I can't get into Windows to restore old drivers. Last know good config does not help either.
- Everything worked just fine until I installed the new drivers and rebooted.
- Is the problem consistent and repeatable, or entirely random, or semi-random? Problem is repeatable. The computer posts, then goes to Window's splash screen, then nothing. Just a blank screen.
- I already tried these steps: F8 before splash screen. Last know good config did not work. Safe mode, can not use keyboard or mouse.
- My software:
- Windows XP Professional Edition with SP3
- Antivirus n/a
- Firewall n/a
