Windows XP CDRW Problems

I am having problems with my wifes PC when trying to use the Windows XP CDRW built in software. Every time I high light a file and try to send it to the drive I get "please insert disk" popup. We also have Nero on the computer and it works fine and have also changed her Pioneer DVDR for my Liteon DVDR and still have the same problem. Any ideas for this fix would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the disk isn't formatted properly? I've noticed mine is picky about formatting, for the few occasions that I use the built in XP thing. You know what would be fun, telling her to use Nero and to get used to it. But then your problems might be less "computer" related, and more "sleepin on the sofa" related.
