Windows XP Pro mouse sensitivity maxed, but still not sensitive enough.

I just recently up graded my mouse wares and now the mouse is very accurate, but so accurate that it is now less sensitive. I'm using a Func pad surface 1038 and a microsoft intellimouse explorer 4.0 (the one with the tilt wheel). Before I was using a microsoft intellipoint 1.0 and because it was less accurate it picked up less and there for the pointer moved further w/ less actual hand movement. I have the intellitype pro 5.0 software installed w/ the mouse sensitivity on max but it is still to slow (being a twitch gamer). In games like ut2004, you can set your sensitivity way higher then you can in just regular windows (probably the engine), but I wanted to know if there were any reg hacks or 3rd party programs that anyone knew of that would increase my windows xp pro mouse sensitivty from its max to even higher ( I guess over clocking my mouse?) I have the mouse in as a USB at the moment, but it came with a PS2 to USB adapter so that is always an option (though I haven't tried it for any sensitivity differences).

With it on the PS/2 port you can increase the poll rate, USB is stuck at one setting. I've always had the same problem, and increasing the poll rate for the PS/2 connection always seems to make it TOO sensitive. And my laptop doesn't have a PS/2 port so I'm stuck with the USB speed. You can uncheck the "enhance pointer precision" option and that will make it move farther, because that option slows it down a tad. However it does make it a bit harder to land dead on the point you want. Strange how there wasn't a need for that option until it became available. I don't remember needing any special mouse speed or precision settings in Win3.11 or even Win95.
