Well, my status has changed from Billing Information Received to In Transit from Redmond, Washington. Looks like it's going to happen. Now, do I upgrade from Win 2K Pro Service Pack 2? My rig:

Any thoughts? I think win 2k is better for gaming due to more support.

The funny thing about Monty Burns' trolling post is that you didn't have to be, or pretend to be, a reseller or partner. All you needed to do was sign up for a .net passport account; no deception was necessary. The title of the thread says "for MS Resellers", but that's inaccurate (and it should have been edited, IMO).

First of all, my post was CLEARLY only referring to the people who passed themselves off as channel partners or resellers, and really weren't. I'm not remotely assuming that everyone who responded did so. I'm sure most didn't.

However, if you think Microsoft is actively trying to sell WinXP Pro to the general public for $39, you're smoking something.

So, again: All the people taking advantage of this deal who are legitimately authorized to do so, I say bravo.
